Job Description
We are looking for detail and results-orientated Project Engineer to join our team in Cape Town. The key purpose of this role is to deliver the one-year 2025 project portfolio of the company. The Project Manager will provide project management, to execute projects across the brewery. This will require establishing relationships with internal and external customers to achieve successful project execution.
Key outputs and responsibilities:
Ensuring compliance to the applicable Occupational Health & Safety Act on assigned projects
Ensure Safety, Health, and Environment legislation compliance, on assigned projects
Maintain a safe work environment on assigned project sites across the brewery, in accordance with both the Occupational Health & Safety Act and the Safety & Environmental VPO Pillar system
Develop project charters with internal and external customers.
This will include front end planning with regards to schedule planning, project benefits, project risks and project budgets
Develop procurement plans per project.
Manage the procurement process, from purchase request to goods received
Plan design reviews and manage design changes within project budget
Plan Hazard and operability studies (HAZOP). Manage HAZOP documentation
Plan factory acceptance testing as well as performance acceptance testing
Ensure project delivery according to signed off design
Manage project budgets, assist project lead with project cash flow management
Development of detailed project schedules for project execution.
Management of project schedules weekly to meet committed completion dates
Update project management system and well as project status weekly
Identify project risks ensure mitigation plans in place
Record project decisions in project management system
Liaise with production re planned production outages for project execution requiring down time
Liaise with Project Engineer daily re project progress, action delays and update project schedules accordingly
Establish the commissioning team required to complete commissioning and start up
Lead the management of change process.
Lead handover to operations once commissioning is completed
Complete administrative tasks, as requested by the project lead for the handover and close out of the project
Ability to work overtime and weekends when necessary
Job Requirements
Project management qualification
Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Civils), or Btech in (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Civils)
Competent with the Microsoft office and Microsoft Project
Knowledge of industrial safety rules and regulations
Engineering knowledge skills required in a FMCG environment
Minimum 5 years’ work experience, preferably in an engineering /project environment.
Experience in working in an industrial or FMCG environment
Good presentation, report drafting, and problem-solving skills
Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work across all levels in the brewery
